Effective date: October 26, 2026
Inside O'side is a local newsletter published by Ryan Ewart in Oceanside, CA. This policy covers our Instagram and Facebook automation and our Meta app, "Inside Oside Publisher."
When someone comments on one of our Instagram posts, Meta sends us:
the comment ID
the comment text
the commenter's Instagram-scoped user ID (an ID Meta assigns for our app, not your username or profile)
We don't receive or request your name, email, contacts, or any other profile information.
To send you our newsletter link. If your comment is just "OSIDE," we send you one direct message with a link to subscribe and post a short public reply ("Sent you a DM!"). Comment text is used only to check for the keyword.
To publish our own posts to the Inside O'side Instagram and Facebook accounts.
We store only the comment ID, for up to 8 days, so we don't send you the same message twice. After that it's deleted automatically. We don't store comment text, names, usernames, or profiles. If you sign up for the newsletter, that signup is handled by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform, under Beehiiv's privacy policy.
We don't sell or rent your information.
We don't share it with anyone, except Meta and Cloudflare (which runs our automation) as needed to deliver the message.
We don't use it for ad targeting.
To ask us to delete any data related to you, email [email protected] with your Instagram username or a link to your comment. We'll confirm once it's done, usually within a few days. Because we keep comment IDs for no more than 8 days, there's usually nothing left to delete by then. You can also delete your comment on Instagram at any time, or unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any issue.
